Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise Family Mourns the untimely death of Michael Ledbetter, lead vocalist and guitarist of the Welch-Ledbetter Connection.
The LRBC staff, musicians, cruiser family and the entire Blues World is in mourning right now with Mike Ledbetter’s untimely and early death. What a shock it was to learn of this tragedy, Mike’s bright future was tragically taken away from him, less than 2 weeks before his next LRBC. Mike Ledbetter had established himself as a rising star among the best blues singers of his generation, using his opera trained techniques to WOW everyone who was in the audience.
We at the LRBC would like to thank Nick Moss who brought Michael as a bandmate on our cruises in October 2016 and again in January 2017. Nearly 4,000 Blues fans had the opportunity to see and hear one of our genre’s amazing singers coming into his own. Ledbetter’s popularity immediately rose not only around the country, but across Europe as well, with his amazing talents.
Teaming up in 2017 with Mike Welch, The Welch Ledbetter Connection Band won a 2018 Blues Music Award for Best Traditional Blues Album, “Right Place Right Time”. We recommend everyone go out and buy it, there simply won’t be another one recorded. https://welchledbetter.com
Michael leaves his partner in life Kathy and mother of their 2 young children, Holland age 4 and Michael Jr. who turns just 1 year old this Sunday. Danielle Nicole is working with a Family Attorney to set up a Foundation for Michael Ledbetter’s Family and the Families blessings. Go Fund Me takes a big chunk, as does PayPal. We will be asking and taking money donations for the next Ledbetter generation on the upcoming cruise as we dedicate it to the Amazing Michael Ledbetter.
